Just a quick catch up for the newcomers. Also, this was originally going to be a print comic, so you need to make sure everyone knows what’s going on.
I should also mention this isn’t me going on some political rant about how the rich like to walk all over the poor and such. This comic isn’t about that, I just needed a setting. I didn’t even realise that it could be seen like that until I saw this page. However, that is how Dae feels. Understandable, after living a life where you barely have anything to eat while others live in comfort. You’d resent them too, I’m sure.

It’s called government by bread and circuses. Keep the rabble satisfied and entertained, and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. I can respect that this is a setting, not a political manifesto, and I’m enjoying the story very much. But people get the government they deserve, and it’s not much of a stretch to see the postapocalyptic mindset around us sometimes.
whenever i read a comic i try my damnedest to ignore the political subtext, and totally never thought about this comic as political before. I like a good story, and this delivers, so ima gonna keep reading now.
maybe there is also gambling and trading (of fighters) involved?
So what. If you have a fully realised setting with people in it of course there will be politicial readings. Except for care bears, or maybe not: http://www.thedevilbear.com/?p=128
